Are You Dealing With a Toxic Leader?
Ever had a boss who made you miserable?
I have. And strangely, I’m grateful.
They had several traits that ranked them in the top worst leaders.
This leader was:
closed to new ideas
ego-driven vs. team-driven
not open to healthy debate
It was their way or no way.
They got upset with me in a meeting after I provided data driven insights and perspectives.
Even though it was my business area, I was told, “It wasn’t your place to speak.”
The consequences became clear - keep my mouth shut or stop getting invited to meetings.
Ironically, this toxic environment nudged me toward the best decision of my life:
Diving full-time into my passion for coaching.
Without that push, I might still be there, comfortable yet complacent.
It was as if the universe said, “Time to jump. We’ve got you.”
So, where are you playing it safe?
Comfortable but craving more?
Remember, discomfort often precedes the greatest changes.
If you’re yearning for something different, you have the power to make that choice.
A toxic boss can cloud your days but can also clear the path to your true calling.
What’s your move?
